Carol, everyone knows you're old! Excuse Me?

Carol, everyone knows you're old! Excuse Me?

A certain Millennial, who shall remain nameless, said this to me recently. I asked her which part of my will she would like to be deleted from? After a moment, I caved and asked her why? She said for 2 reasons. #1. Because you  leave voice mail messages, I know you called. #2. Your name. No one names their child Carol. Well not much I can do about that.

Then I saw this snippet from an article on common names in the 1940s.

The following table shows the most popular given names for male and female babies born during the 1940s. For each rank and sex, the table shows the name and the number of occurrences of that name. The most popular names were taken from a universe that includes 15,157,029 male births and 14,894,724 female births
Popular names of the period 1940s. Click Here for the total list.

  Males Females
Rank Name Number Name Number
1 James 795,753 Mary 640,066
2 Robert 758,091 Linda 531,653
3 John 711,578 Barbara 425,261
4 William 556,446 Patricia 411,412
5 Richard 477,458 Carol 292,328

I had no idea Carol was number 5 but the real coincidence is that Hubby's  name was also number 5. I guess we were meant to be. Do we have any other meant to be's?

I had a busy production week and am channeling the release of the Barbie Movie!
